Skydiving ride opens in Mirdif mall...

iFly Dubai, the region's first public indoor skydiving centre, opened to the public at the new Mirdif City Center, the mall's operators confirmed at the weekend.

The ride uses transparent acrylic tubes powered by two 400 horsepower fans to allow participants to ride a current of air. The winds in the tunnel can reach speeds of up to 200km per hr and prices start from AED165 ($44.92) for adults and AED125 ($34.03) for children.

Majid Al Futtaim Ventures, the operators of the ride, claim it is the region's first public indoor skydiving centre and it will be part of the Playnation leisure and entertainment section at the new mall

"With highly trained instructors on hand to teach participants everything they need to know for the thrill of a lifetime, we are confident that this fantastic leisure attraction will become a much talked about highlight of not just the Emirates, but of the region as well," said Ahmed Ismail, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Ventures.

Other attractions include Cité des Enfants - a children's edutainment centre; Soccer Circus - an interactive football attraction, Yalla! Bowling - a 12-lane state-of-the-art bowling alley and Magic Planet - a family entertainment centre that provides amusement for all age groups with its various themed rides and arcade games.
