David Guetta in Dubai

David Guetta defied rumours to grace the decks at the Dubai World Trade Centre

Despite rumours reaching us all day on April 9 that French DJ David Guetta had been arrested – a prank that spread like wildfire among Friday brunchers – he showed up on time to perform a three-hour set at the WTC.

A packed crowd, mainly made up of teenyboppers, waved their glow sticks to Guetta’s infectious, chart-friendly house music and nutty stage show (our fave was the stiltwalking robot who staggered on, fired lasers for two songs and wobbled off).

Remixes were interspersed with favourites such as ‘One Love’, ‘Love is Gone’ and the Kelly Rowland collaboration ‘When Love Takes Over’ – yep, there was a lot of love and the crowd couldn’t get enough.
