Good news for Australasian expats

Etihad Airways enters partnership with Virgin Blue, offering 44 more destinations, particularly in the Pacific

A partnership between Etihad and Virgin Blue means that the Abu Dhabi airline will move towards providing 27 weekly services to Australia, as well as added services to New Zealand, the Pacific Islands, Asia and Los Angeles. The airline currently flies 450,000 people a year to Australia, and they’re hoping to bump that up by another 100,000. The best news for the consumer? This means that the Etihad frequent flyer programme is now tied up with Virgin Blue: you’ll be able to earn miles on all of their airlines.
