Dance legend Moby is to bring his unique chilled-out brand of music to Dubai.
The American DJ, singer-songwriter and musician will play at the Dubai World Trade Centre on July 4, when he is expected to perform his latest single, The Day, released next month.
The 45-year-old has confirmed the Dubai date as part of his Destroyed World Tour, which will see him perform alongside a full live band.
Moby – real name Richard Meville Hall – leapt to worldwide fame with the launch of just his second single, Go, in 1991.
His 1999 album, Play, sold more than 10 million copies worldwide, dominating the dance album charts for two years.
His nickname and middle name are said to be because of an ancestral relationship to Moby Dick author Herman Melville. No fewer than eighteen of his songs have received licensing films, television and commercial advertisements.
Moby, who lives a vegan lifestyle and is a well-known supporter of animal rights, is also expected to perform the most popular songs of his career at his Dubai gig, including Porcelain, Natural Blues and Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?
Tickets for the event, priced Dh 200 and Dh 350 for VIP seats, go on sale on April 17.
