Dubai has emerged as the world’s 11th best destination for future real estate investment, overtaking such well-established major cities as US capital Washington, Zurich in Switzerland and Sydney in Australia.

According to Forbes magazine, Dubai is making a comeback in the aftermath of the global financial crisis and is now among the top 20 global cities in terms of future real estate investment up to 2020.

Speed limits on Dubai roads — both internal as well as highways — would be revised according to a new manual to be released by the end of June.

A special team at the Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) Traffic and Roads Agency (TRA), in association with Dubai Police, has been studying various proposals to enhance road safety over the past year, and the final recommendations would be set in to form the new Speed Limit Manual.

With temperatures touching 40 degrees and desert all around us, anyone wanting to ignore the issue of water conservation here would need to bury their head in the sand.

Especially when you consider water consumption is 550 litres daily per capita in the UAE - three times the global average. According to a recent survey, 57 per cent of Dubai residents said they take an active role in monitoring water consumption.
