Dubai has yet another world record in its name - the world’s tallest residential tower, The Torch.

Select Group, a private property developers in the UAE, will begin handing over world’s tallest residential tower next month, said a press statement. The tower, in Dubai Marina, will beat Q1 Tower of God Coast, Australia, to become the world’s tallest residential tower, said the company.

This year’s Arabian Travel Market in Dubai will attract more than 22,000 industry professionals, reveals Reed Travel Exhibitions group exhibition director Mark Walsh.

He said: “This year we welcome representatives from the Iraqi travel sector to the show in Dubai for the first time.”

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced the completion of linking 300 signalised junctions with the Central Light Traffic Control System, which represents about 75 per cent of light signals in Dubai.

RTA said the work was progressing in linking the remaining 100 junctions to the control system so that all signalised junctions would be fully linked to the system by the first half of this year.
