Uruguayan star Diego Forlan insists he is not set to leave Atletico Madrid for Dubai this summer.

Last week, Al Wasl claimed they were close to completing a deal to sign the striker, with the ambitious Dubai-based club hoping to secure Forlan's services on a one-year loan deal.

Villa owners in popular communities like Springs, Meadows and Arabian Ranches are asking for more rent as compared to six months back but experts believe there is no real upward movement in rents in these areas.

“Better Homes has not experienced any significant movement in the rental fees for villas in areas such as Springs and Meadows. However, there has been an opinion from owners that the market is in recovery,” said Paul Musson, of Better Homes.

Disappointed Dubai fans will miss out on catching a glimpse of Asin Thottumkal and Salman Khan for the world premiere of their film, “Ready” at Grand Cineplex.

News filtering in from India confirms that Thottumkal will be unable to attend the Dubai premiere as her passport has been held up for her UK visa application in India. The actress was hoping to repeat her red carpet walk, which she did with Khan two years ago during the Dubai premiere of “London Dreams”.

The performance of public buses in Dubai has shown remarkable improvement.

The percentage of journeys actually made in various routes saw an increase of 13 per cent in the first quarter of this year, clocking 99 per cent, compared to 86 per cent in first quarter of 2010.
