A facial and massage for less: Saray Spa is super-sleek and one of our local favourites: this month it’s offering a de-stress back massage and a signature facial for a Dhs250 discount – 90 minutes of treatment time in total.
Dhs350. Open daily 9am-10pm. Saray Spa, Al Sufouh Road (04 319 4000).

See Emirati art: Featuring seven emerging Emirati artists, this new Ara Gallery exhibition will showcase everything from photography to calligraphy and graphic design.
Open daily 10am-5pm. The Ara Gallery, Burj Plaza, Downtown Dubai (04 454 2784).

Go wild at Wafi: The Wafi Sound and Light Show is back, and the latest ‘performance’ is all about wildlife – think lions roaring and bucks jumping. After the show, you can also get 20 per cent off at the restaurants in the nearby Wafi Pyramids.
Free. Wildlife show daily 8pm and 10pm; Pharaoh’s show daily 9pm. Wafi, Oud Metha, www.wafirestaurants.com.

Laugh at the boys: The all-male side of Rotana’s comedy tour returns to Dubai for a night of stand-up.
Free. From 8.30pm-10pm. Long’s Bar, Towers Rotana (04 312 2202).

Take the monkeys to Modhesh World: Yes, Modhesh World is back for the summer (it opens today), and you can expect all the usual entertaining activities at this spacious, air-conditioned indoor fun park located at Dubai Airport Expo. Although the admission cost is low, you do pay for all the individual rides, which include log flumes, mini roller coasters, dodgems, train rides and the ubiquitous jungle gym and soft play area. It can be a fairly pricey session, especially if you have more than one child, but it’s a great place for your kids to enjoy a noisy run-around. Call for timings and prices.
Modhesh World, Dubai Airport Expo, www.dubaievents.ae (600 545 555).
