Go Goan and pop out for a Snog!

Things to do today, The Knowledge
Sunday 24

New exhibitions at Traffic gallery: Two new shows have just opened at this large Al Quoz gallery. One focuses on the works of recent graduates from the University of Sharjah, and the other is a series of thought-provoking pieces produced by gallery owner Rami Farook. Expect a bit of controversy.
Continues until August 31. Umm Suqeim Road, Al Quoz (04 347 0209).

Go Goan at Handi: Goan celebrity chef Urbano de Rego will whip up some traditional dishes at Handi’s Goan food festival. The event continues until July 30.
Prices vary. Noon-3.30pm; 7pm-11.30pm. Handi, Taj Palace Hotel, Deira (04 211 3020).

Play beach volleyball: Compete for fun in teams of six at these sessions, which also take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. And yes, it is cool enough in the evenings!
Dhs450 per individual, Dhs3,200 per team to play until August 31. 7.30pm. Barasti, Le Méridien Mina Seyahi, www.duplays.com (055 224 0187).

Check out a new club night: Like chrome, black leather and hip hop? No, it’s not a bad music video, it’s Rone Jaxx’s new club night, Urban, at Pulse – and if all those things float your boat, what’s not to love?
Free. Open 10pm-3am. Pulse, Mövenpick Hotel Bur Dubai (04 358 2090)

Pop out for some Snog frozen yoghurt: Snog frozen yoghurt is completely delicious and very healthy. When the weather’s so hot, what better way to cool down than with a generous serving? Made with prebiotics, organic milk, natural sweeteners (Agave nectar) and served with all manner of healthy fresh berries, we’re firm fans of this tempting snack. If your kids aren’t quite so much into fruit, they can always get a chocolate brownie topping instead.
From Dhs16. Open daily 10am-midnight. Mirdif City Centre. www.ifancyasnog.com.
