Emirates Airline Rugby Sevens 2011: The busiest day of this three-day tournament is today, when UAE residents and tourists turn out to see international teams play seven-minute games in their battle to win the cup. Post-Sevens buses will be on hand to transport revellers back to The Irish Village, Chi, Barasti and Nezesaussi to continue the party into the evening. Also on Thursday and Saturday.
Thu free; Fri or Sat Dhs230, season ticket (Fri and Sat) Dhs350. 7.30am-9.30pm. The Sevens Stadium, Al Ain Road, www.timeouttickets.com

Enjoy French food flair on Fridays: Reflets par Pierre Gagnaire serves a four-course menu every Friday, matched with grape picked by the sommelier. It’s the perfect way to sample the food at this award-winning venue without breaking the bank.
Dhs250 (food only), Dhs390 (with grape). Fri noon-2pm. Ongoing. InterContinental Festival City (04 701 1127).

Kate Nash unplugged: The quirky British pop songstress is playing a one-off stripped-down acoustic gig in Dubai. Expect painfully honest lyrics shrouded by chirpy melodies and Supremes-eque harmonies in hits such as 2007’s ‘Foundations’.
Dhs150 (advance) Dhs180 (on the door). 6pm. The Amphitheatre, Souk Madinat Jumeirah, www.timeouttickets.com

Giggle at a human motormouth: Michael Winslow – the funny one from the Police Academy movies – can make thousands of funny noises and sound effects with his mouth. Tonight he shares his party trick live, so expect plenty of laughs.
Dhs175-Dhs250. 7.30pm. Centrepoint Theatre, Ductac, Mall of the Emirates, Barsha, www.timeouttickets.com

Join the party at the Rugby Sevens: This annual rugby tournament kicks off today, promising three days of fast and furious action on the pitch. There’s heaps more than just the rugby, though, with fancy dress competitions, the Big Book kicking competition, drumming, mini golf, arm wrestling, a magic carpet slide, gladiator games and an army track obstacle course.
Free today; adults Dhs230 on Fri-Sat, Dhs350 for both days. Free every day for kids under 12. Until December 3. The Sevens Stadium, Dubai-Al Ain Road, www.dubairugby7s.com, www.timeouttickets.com
