Head out on a midweek city hike: Looking to keep fit but don’t fancy the gym? This city hike is a great alternative, and this week’s will take place around Dubai Marina and The Walk at JBR.
Dhs100. 10.30am-1.30pm. Arabia Outdoors, Dubai Creek (055 955 6209).

Pair and dine at Mango Tree: Indulge in a five-course pairing menu, which offers a wide spectrum of Thai flavours perfectly matched with selected grape.
Dhs295 (standard menu), Dhs250 (vegetarian menu). Daily 6.30pm-11pm. Ongoing. Mango Tree, Souk Al Bahar (04 426 7313).

See Maurice Pinto’s paintings: The landscape painter has documented his travels in the UAE with a body of work that captures the sun, sand and sea.
Free. Aspen Café, Kempinski Hotel, Mall of the Emirates (04 409 5999).

Dine at the chef’s table at Thiptara: Join Chef Mac at Thiptara’s chef’s table and enjoy an exclusive four-course meal, tailored to meet your tastes. Perfect for loved-up couples.
Dhs1,500 (per couple with a bottle of bubbly or selected beverages). 8.30pm-11pm. Ongoing. The Palace, The Old Town, Downtown Dubai (04 428 7961).

Kids dine for free at Spur: We love this South African family restaurant in Dubai Festival City, where the steaks are thick and juicy, and the nippers are kept entertained throughout the meal with colouring sheets, balloons and the restaurant’s own playroom. Mum and dad can tuck into hearty nosh while the kids make the most of the food. Best of all, the kids eat for free.
Prices vary. Tue 6pm-11pm. Ongoing. Spur, Dubai Festival City, www.spur.ae (04 232 8866).
