Dubai International Film Festival fever

Cinematic celebration to kick off with Life of Pi screening

This year’s Dubai International Film Festival is shaping up to be a cracker. The eight-day cinematic celebration kicks off on Sunday December 8 with a red-carpet screening of Life of Pi, based on the novel by Yann Martel. Of the other 160 movies, we rate Tom Hanks in Cloud Atlas; Wadjda, the first feature to be shot in Saudi Arabia; and Paul Thomas Anderson’s Oscar-bait The Master. See next week’s issue for more.
