Jazz@PizzaExpress in Dubai

Renowned UK jazz venue to take a slice of Dubai's live music scene

A renowned London jazz club is set to open a branch in Dubai any day now.

While you might not expect it from a chain Italian restaurant, Soho’s PizzaExpress Jazz Club is known among music lovers as one of the top spots in the UK’s capital – and now it is coming to the UAE.

The Jazz@PizzaExpress venue is expected to open at the Mövenpick Hotel and Residence Jumeirah Lakes Towers in early February, with an exact date to be confirmed.

Located on Dean Street, the original London venue showcases respected touring jazz artists seven nights a week. The club’s many achievements include welcoming the European debut of Norah Jones, hosting the late Amy Winehouse and launching the career of Jamie Cullum – who reportedly played for the equivalent of Dhs300 a week and some free pizza.

In Dubai managers say they hope to replicate the London venue’s success by showcasing local talent. Check back for an opening date soon.
