Florence and the Machine are set to play their only gig of 2013 in Dubai.
After weeks of speculation, the UK indie-pop band has been confirmed as the headliner of the next Sandance event, to take place on Friday May 10.
Tickets for the gig are on sale now, which was revealed to the crowds gathered at the close of this weekend’s Noel Gallagher’s gig at Atlantis (on Friday March 15).
Best known for two consecutive chart-topping Calvin Harris collaborations 'Spectrum (Say My Name)' and 'Sweet Nothing', the one-off festival is expected to be the band’s only gig of the year, with lead singer Florence Welch and keyboard player Isabella ‘Machine’ Summers taking 2013 off to work on a new record.
It will be their third LP, following 2009’s Brit Award-winning Lungs and 2011 follow-up Ceremonials.
Organisers are remaining tight-lipped about the rest of the line-up, but we’ve been told to expect the ‘classic’ Sandance format of including a chilled sunset act and closing big-name DJ.
