It has been announced this week the Dubai Fountain Lake Ride is the latest attraction to be added to the growing number of reasons to head to this part of town, as Time Out Dubai revealed in our recent ‘Explore Downtown’ cover feature this month.
Guests can sign up for a tour of the 30-acre Burj Lake and cruise in an abra amongst the world’s tallest performing fountains. The ride, which can accommodate up to six people, takes around half an hour and will be held from Saturday to Thursday from 5:45pm to 11:15pm. In the evenings, the rides will be held in between subsequent performances of the fountain to ensure the safety of the visitors.
The US$20 billion Downtown Dubai area is now home to a number of world firsts – including Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building; The Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping and entertainment destination and Souk Al Bahar, an Arabesque retail and dining out destination. Visitors can access Downtown Dubai from the Dubai Metro station using the newly opened travellator.
At over 900 ft (275 metres) in length – equivalent to that of over two football fields – The Dubai Fountain was created by the US firm behind the Fountains of Bellagio in Las Vegas.
