International music star Alicia Keys is playing Dubai in November.
The 14-time Grammy Award-winner will return to play at Dubai Media City on Friday November 15 – nearly a decade after making her Middle Eastern debut at the same venue.
American singer Keys has enjoyed a career renaissance of late. After jamming airwaves as the featured vocalist on Jay-Z’s 2009 smash ‘Empire State of Mind’, last year’s fifth studio LP Girl on Fire saw the 32-year-old singer updating her style with collaborations alongside Bruno Mars, Babyface, Frank Ocean and Jamie Foxx. The title track rewarded Keys with her biggest hit single since 2007’s ‘No One’.
Keys returns to Dubai Media City Amphitheatre after making a splash with her regional debut at the same venue in 2004. She also appeared at Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Sports City, supporting George Michael at a National Day celebration, in 2008.
Thomas Ovesen, COO of promoters Done Events, said: ‘Having worked with Alicia Keys when she first visited the Middle East back in 2004, and after seeing her in concert when she performed in London a few weeks back, I can guarantee her many regional fans they will be in for a fantastic show.’
Keys first found fame with her debut album Songs in A Minor, her bestselling album to date, which is known for breakout hit ‘Fallin’’. She has gone on to sell more than 30 million albums worldwide.
Tickets for the concert, starting at Dhs295, go on sale at 9am on Monday July 1 from www.timeouttickets.com
