A pop-up sandal shop and new labels on the way

Knowledge story, The Knowledge

If you’re yet to own a pair of Arabic men’s sandals, let this be your cue to start. Luxury Arabic shoemaker Private Collection is running a pop-up store in The Dubai Mall’s Level Shoe District (04 501 6690) during Ramadan. Shoppers can peruse the collection of Italian-made leather slip-on sandals. Customers are invited to experience the craftsmanship firsthand and watch the leather being cut and the sandals being hand-stitched. Be sure to check out the pyramid sandal, which is made with small pyramids and has a textured effect.

Meanwhile, local multi-brand Sunset Mall boutique Rivaage (04 380 7177) is introducing a series of cool labels to its portfolio for the autumn/winter 2013 season. This month brands including Marchesa’s prêt-line Notte by Marchesa, NYC-based labels Jovani and Adrianna Pappell join the ranks of current brands House of Harlow and Vera Wang. The boutique continues to add to its concept of representing the perfect closet, with a mix of pieces for day and night.

Lastly, cute US pyjama brand Kensie is now available in Dubai for the first time. K-Lynn (050 650 5354) is exclusively stocking the colourful sets, which feature singlets and shorts and trousers in bright colours and prints. Ideal for those unforgiving AC environments, the sets come in handy for both travel and summer and winter in Dubai.
