Public Enemy’s DJ Lord to play Dubai

Influential decksmith the first in a string of major hip-hop stars coming to the UAE

Knowledge story, The Knowledge

Hot on the footsteps of a Dubai gig by N.W.A’s DJ Yella, news has landed that a wealth of other hip-hop stars are winging their way to spin in the emirate.

Topping that list is Public Enemy’s DJ Lord, who will be dropping by to spin at The Music Room on Friday October 18.

Lord will be playing at the new monthly hip-hop night Boombox – which has already named future bookings including DJ True Justice of Guerrilla Funk Recordings on November 15, plus a full live show from ’90s LA group Tha Liks on December 13.

With the night kicking off with Yella on August 23, observant readers might notice that leaves a September booking to be filled. Don’t fear – we hear the decksmith from a pioneering NY hip-hop trio is being sized up as we write this. Stay tuned for more.
