Monaco’s exclusive Sass Café coming to Dubai

Renowned jet-setters hangout to open in DIFC before the end of the year

Knowledge story, The Knowledge

An exclusive luxury nightspot known for attracting the elite of Europe is set to open a branch in Dubai.

Based on Monte Carlo's Avenue Princess Grace, Sass Café has been making headlines since U2's Bono chose to celebrate his 48th birthday at the restaurant-bar in 2008. His guest list included Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Prince Albert II.

Renowned as a hangout for celebrities, jetsetters and international moneymen, Sass Café has fittingly chosen another tax free haven for its first venture outside Monaco. We're predicting the venue will fit snugly into Dubai's nightlife scene when it opens the doors of its new DIFC venue later this year.

Observant types could have predicted that restaurateur Salvador ‘Sassa' Treves and his son Samy Sass would size up the emirate next: Dubai's Movida has hosted Sass Café-backed nights, while the brand registered at DIFC in April this year. But now for the first time bosses have confirmed an opening date of ‘late 2013' at Al Fattan Currency House.

Little else has been revealed so far, but we can tell you the restaurant will serve Mediterranean food, and be flanked by a piano bar and terrace with Burj Khalifa views.
