New fashion labels launch in Dubai

DimePlace and Project 104 to arrive in the UAE

Knowledge story, The Knowledge

This week: two new labels arrive in Dubai and anniversary celebrations at Level Shoe District.

Dubai hipsters and homies, rejoice: LA-based Edgy urban brand DimePiece is now available in the city at West LA Boutique (04 394 4248). The label has a tom-boy vibe and a non-conformist approach to female fashion. Favoured by empowered lady celebs including Katy Perry and Pink, the latest collection features emblazoned bra tops and graphic T-shirts featuring slogans such as ‘Ain’t No Wifey’. But that’s not all. There’s another new label in town at West LA boutique neighbour Valleydez (04 324 2883). The quirky boudoir-esque shop is now stocking Project 104 swimwear, a UK label specialising in limited edition, individually numbered artful one-pieces, featuring elaborate floral designs and motifs. Waif-like style mavens should head down there immediately.

Lastly, The Dubai Mall’s Level Shoe District (04 501 6690) turns one in October and to celebrate, the mega shoe emporium is hosting three days of shindigs from October 10 to 12. Featuring a dance showcase inspired by the London’s West End, entitled ‘Let the Show Begin’, it will feature world-class talent and performances choreographed by Ashley Wallen (Kylie Minogue, Black Eyed Peas). The luxe hub is also unveiling a limited- edition collection of charitable items, including T-shirts featuring sketches by footwear designers.

Until next week, happy shopping.
