New celebrity-themed restaurant to open in Dubai

Diners will be greeted by ‘paparazzi’ when they dine at Taste of Fame

A new Dubai restaurant is aiming to make its clientele feel like VIPs – by installing a row of ‘paparazzi’ photographers to snap diners on the way in.

And if that wasn’t enough, once visitors have dodged the flashbulbs on the red carpet, inside the restaurant they will have the opportunity to eat alongside their idols – with 30 life-size models of celebrities.

But before you start to get garish visions of queuing at Madame Tussauds, bosses at Taste of Fame have pledged their models will be a cut above the average. Instead of waxworks, restaurant managers are shipping expensive silicon models from the USA.

The restaurant will cater to fans of both Hollywood and Bollywood, with models said to include Will Smith, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Robert De Nero, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and even Kim Kardashian. Meanwhile, in a head-nod to the music world it’s reported Elton John will take a seat at the piano.

And towering over the entrance of the Sunset Mall spot will be huge statues of Marvel superheroes such as Batman and Ironman.

Likely to open to the public in November, the 12,000sq ft space is said to be the first restaurant of its kind in the region, and was founded by business partners Rabi Youssef and Mohamed Ezzat.

Mr Youssef said: ‘We are extremely proud to announce that we are launching this rather significant concept in Dubai. Our objective is to offer something exclusive and indeed a memorable experience. ‘What sets us apart is simply in our proposition, which is distinctive in every angle and we believe that we will change the idea of dining.’
