Mall of the Emirates to be extended

First stage of Dhs930 million overhaul to be completed this year

Knowledge story, The Knowledge

A Dhs930 million extension has been announced for Al Barsha’s Mall of the Emirates. The first stage will include a 50,000sq ft fashion district and will be completed before the end of the year.

An upgrade is also planned for the existing Kempinski Mall of the Emirates (which is currently undergoing a revamp to its main entrance) as well as a brand new, ultra luxurious hotel which will add an additional 200 rooms to the mall. It is set to be branded with a famous name too. The expansion has been planned to meet future demand, with the city’s ongoing, widely publicised aim to boost visitor numbers to a whopping 20 million by 2020.
