Get measured for a suit by webcam

Order direct from New York without leaving the front room

This week: Bespoke suits via webcam, a new sunglasses label and men’s threads.

Dubai’s high-flyers now not need leave the surrounds of their home or hotel to purchase a slick new suit. Dubai and New York-based online men’s bespoke suit label Knot Standard (www.knotstandard.com) has just introduced technology allowing their customers to be measured up using the webcam on their computer. Those wishing to get suited and booted simply don their darkest, tightest get-up (très attractive) and the measurements are then tallied and checked by the tailors.

Meanwhile, if you’re partial to setting trends rather than following them, check out new Dubai sunglasses label Blink Bridge (www.blinkbridge.com). Although some designs resemble those gracing most of Dubai’s beaches, dig deeper and you’ll find unique, unusual gems, such as The Pharaoh, which features a tortoise shell frame with Egyptian Hieroglyphics stamped into the metallic arms. For every purchase made online, the Kenyan-born designer is donating one pair of glasses to provide underprivileged people in Kenya and Uganda with eye tests and glasses.

Lastly, if you haven’t already, check out cool men’s German label Tom & Hawk at West LA Boutique (04 394 4248). The brand is exclusive to the Sunset Mall and designs are Aztec-inspired. Hipsters need only apply.
