Are you happy with your Dubai salary?

If so, you're in the minority, says a Time Out poll

Knowledge story, The Knowledge

While many expats in Dubai would admit the emirate’s tax-free salary was a motivation to move here in the first place, on the whole we’re far from satisfied with what we’re getting. According to Time Out readers voting online, a total of 84 percent of us are unhappy with what we’re getting paid.

Answering the question ‘Are you happy with your UAE salary?’ only 11 percent agreed with the statement ‘Yes – I think what I earn is what I’m worth’, while five percent answered ‘More than happy – if I’m honest, I’m paid more than I deserve’.

On the flipside, 37 percent of those polled admitted ‘I’d like a little more, but I think my salary is competitive’, while nearly half of those surveyed (46 percent) replied to the question saying they were unhappy, answering the question ‘Not at all – I’m under-rewarded for what I do’.
