4.58pm Atlantis have just confirmed that their events will be going ahead tonight but without fireworks.

4.31pm Finally, we have contacted Club 400. It is open as planned tonight but it will be a quieter affair with no NY celebrations.

4.18pm Uptown Bar and Dhow and Anchor at Jumeirah Beach Hotel are open as usual.

4.02pm Souk Madinat Jumeirah's Restaurants all open except Al Hambra, Segretto and Centimetro. Malecon and Boudoir at Dubai Marine open but no fireworks display.

3.57pm Nelson's Bar fully operational; Harry's Place fully operational; Koubba Bar fully operational; Oeno Wine Bar fully operational; Trader Vic's Crowne Plaza fully operational

3.46pm Buddha Bar. Open as normal.

3.44pm New Year's Carnivale at Al Sahra Desert Resort is still on but no fireworks.

3.39pm Chill rooftop Lounge at the Royal Ascot Hotel. DJ cancelled, entrance Dhs100 includes one drink and food

3.26pm Crystal Bar New Year' Eve at Grand Millennium is on. Al Bustan Rotana Hotel- Inside events as planned JW Marriott Dubai- Inside events as planned Shangri La Dubai- Band is cancelled but dinner is still on.

3.25pm Chi has cancelled its NYE party tonight. Tickets for tonight will be valid tomorrow night with two free drinks.

3.20pm Double Decker is on, Barasti will be on but with no fireworks or live music, Tamanya Terrace open but doing everyday operation not NYE party, Calabar is on, 400 Club waiting for confirmation but planning to go ahead, Wafi Rooftop (Skool Daze) still operational but no loud music and no dancing,

3pm Chaos VIP night - fully operational.

2.53pm Axwell has been cancelled. Anyone who bought their tickets from Time Out will have the money refunded back onto the credit card they paid with directly.

2.50pm Solid Gold, Dubai Marine Beach Resort & Spa - no fireworks, quieter music.

2.47pm We have been told that New Years Eve in Dubai at the Madinat Jumeirah is on. Only the fireworks display is cancelled.

2.29pm The Apartment Lounge and Club at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel will still have the New Year's Eve Ball with Grandmaster Flash supported by DJ Rone Jaxx and Ricardo da Force.

2.21pm Lotus One will be operating as planned with the NYE Gala Canapes & Dinners 8.30 p.m onwards. Toll Free:800 Lotus

2.17pm Club Persia is still on. ZUMA will be open for dinner on New Year's Eve, as per the
original plans. The opening hours are 7pm on 31 December to 3am on 1 January. For more information, please contact 04 425 5660.

2.10pm The Dubai Drums event is still on. It's going to be called "New moon Desert Drumming For Peace". The Chaos event at the Madinat Arena is still on. Kandy Club is on.

2.05pm 360 is cancelled tonight. More details to follow.

2.05pm Alpha Alpha will not be celebrating NYE tonight, they will however be OPEN and supporting the Palestinians with a live tribute from Osheasis and JoJo De Freq. Donations welcome at the door for Palestinians relief fund. 047022640

1.52pm The Irish Village have announced that anyone who has bought tickets will get a voucher to the value of their ticket back. This can be spent at the IV anytime from January 1 2009. If you don't have a ticket you can come along and enjoy the free buffet anyway. The bar will operate as normal but there will be no live music. There will be background music but no New Year celebrations.

The Cellar For those who have bought tickets dinner will be as planned but without entertainment. Those who still wish to attend will get a Dhs300 discount on their ticket price. If you don't want to attend and would like a full refund please contact the venue to arrange this.

1.41pm We have just been told that all indoor events will go ahead as planned but there will be no outdoors events. We will keep you updated on which of these events will be moved inside and which will be cancelled.

12.48pm The Pacha party with Jon Carter will now be held in the Johara Ballroom at the Souk Madinat Jumeirah. The timings will remain the same. Tickets are now all Dhs750, those who paid Dhs850 will get a refund at the door.

12.41pm Venue heads, who have been in talks with Dubai Government, have told us to expect confirmation on whether events will be taking place, cancelled, or be moved to another night, by 1.30pm today. We will post more information as soon as we have it.

12.05pm The final decision on which events, if any, will be allowed to take place for NYE is expected within the hour.
