Rolling Stones Abu Dhabi gig completely sold out

But promoters announce hopes to set up a second concert

Knowledge story, The Knowledge

Tickets for The Rolling Stones live in Abu Dhabi have completely sold out.

However promoters behind the Friday February 21 gig are trying to increase capacity – or even host a second UAE gig.

On Sunday evening Flash Entertainment tweeted: ‘#StonesAbuDhabi SOLD OUT! Due to high demand, we're working on solutions to increase capacity or set up another show’.

Tickets for the show were priced between Dhs395 and Dhs3,995, with an expected capacity of around 25,000.

The du Arena gig on Yas Island will see the Stones – who celebrated 50 years as a band with a duo of London Hyde Park performances last year – perform in the UAE for the first, and probably last, time.

‘This is the biggest and most significant show we have ever staged, and ticket sales are indicative of the fervour and excitement to see the Rolling Stones kick off their 14 On Fire tour in Abu Dhabi,’ said Flash CEO John Lickrish, before the sell out was announced.
