Recycling on the rise in the UAE

Encouraging figures show more being done to help the environment

The Knowledge

The Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) collected almost 1,800 tonnes of recyclable waste last year through eight collection campaigns that took place throughout 2013. Abu Dhabi residents had a respectable showing, collecting nearly three tonnes in one week last December. EEG plans to continue the impressive efforts later this month with their can-collection day that is scheduled for Friday, February 28.
