Top Swiss beauty company arrives in Dubai

Good news for mani-pedi fiends as 'quality' brand Mavala lands in the UAE

Knowledge story, The Knowledge

This week: Mavala brand arrives here, new workshops for parents, plus a bargain Valentine’s Day deal.

Good news for mani-ped fiends, Geneva-based beauty company Mavala (no number) is now available in Dubai for the first time. The quality nail, eye, body, foot and cosmetics brand has carved a niche in the cosmetics field for the past 50 years, blending science with nature to produce a high-performing line of products, including the best-selling, retro-tastic Scientifique Nail Hardener (pictured). You can browse the entire range at the Madi International (04 338 2773) showroom in Garhoud.

Meanwhile, Illuminations Wellbeing Centre (04 448 7043) has introduced a couple of new parent-focused workshops to their February schedule. The line-up kicks off with a Spiritual Parenting workshop on February 10, which helps adults how to deal with passive-aggressive behaviour, how to communicate through love and gain the tools to support children with behavioural issues, including ADD and ADHD. Then on February 12, mothers can bring their bubs down for Energy Healing for Babies, and expecting mums can gain knowledge and techniques for a smooth, peaceful birth in Happy Mother Healthy Baby over two days from February 17 to 19.

Lastly, Senso Wellness Centre (04 366 9111) at Radisson Blu Dubai Media City has a pretty decent Valentine’s Day deal for couples this month. For Dhs500 per person, you get a package of treatments totalling two hours, which includes a coffee body scrub, chocolate body wrap and finished off with a full-body massage. Book now and surprise your loved one. Until next week, namaste.
