Your chance to work for Vogue

Budding designers offered chance to work alongside the pros

Knowledge story, The Knowledge

This week: Cultural fashion via Aigner. And Vogue is on the lookout for design talent.

Looking for a cultural keepsake with style cred? High-end German leather and accessories house Aigner (04 434 1333) has just launched its own version of the traditional Arab headdresses, including a pure white ghutra as well as the iconic red and white-checked shemagh. Made in Switzerland, the headpieces feature the brand’s horseshoe logo and are priced from Dhs225 each.

Good news for local designers, the Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience is back for a second round in 2014, with a talent-scouting competition headlining this year. The winning designers will be mentored by international fashion experts, with their works to be showcased at Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience 2014. Only young designers with labels that have been established for at least a year can apply at tdmtalentscouting@condenast.it.

Lastly, local online outfit and showroom The Dress Room (www.thedressroom.com) has moved location in JLT. The girly hub now operates out of Suite 903, 9th Floor, JBC2 Building, V Cluster opposite Damas.
