Pay your UAE bills on smartphone

Dubai Smart initiate to be introduced in next two years

Knowledge story, The Knowledge

Dubai’s Smart Government initiative could see residents paying for a number of services from their smartphones within the next two years, meaning no more time spent standing in queues to clear your bills.

Not only should you be able to pay parking fines and DEWA bills, but smartphones could also be used to store official national ID papers. Another upside to the smart government project, which has been allocated a budget of Dhs200 million to get off the ground, is that government services will be available to smartphone users 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Tying in nicely, the recently announced Dubai Government Initiative 2021, will bring together all government bodies and create a single entity – designed to improve efficiency across the board.
