Underwater park to be built in Dubai?

Haven for scuba divers and marine life pencilled in off The World

Knowledge story, The Knowledge

Dubai is set to get an underwater park for both scuba divers and marine life. LA-based Reef Worlds has been tasked with designing two sites off The World islands that will create both a sustainable habitat for the region’s sea creatures and an exciting place for exploration by the city’s keen snorkellers and divers.

According to reports, the project will be officially revealed to the public this spring. These submerged structures will join an existing dive site at The World – a spectacular coral reef along the breakwater, which opened to the public late last year, five years after being moved from the Dubai Drydocks as part of a reef conservation project, and is bursting with colourful sealife.
