The Knowledge

EDM star Avicii has been forced to cancel his upcoming Dubai gig following health concerns.

The Swedish superstar was set to perform Live@Atlantis on Friday (April 4).

However fears erupted that the plug would be pulled after the ‘Wake Me Up’ hitmaker was hospitalised on Saturday (March 29) morning, on the eve of a performance at Miami’s game-changing Ultra Festival.

Now organisers of the Dubai gig have confirmed the gig has been called off while the DJ recovered. All ticketholders will be refunded.

Following the operation the 24-year-old artist, who's real name is Tim Bergling, tweeted a picture from his hospital bed, telling fans: 'Thanks for your concern everyone, it means a lot to me!'

A statement from events company said: ‘Due to the superstar DJ's health issue, Live@Atlantis featuring Avicii has to be cancelled.

‘All online ticket holders who have not yet collected their physical tickets will be refunded automatically by our online ticket partners. Those guests who bought or collected physical tickets should return the
physical ticket to the same ticket vendor in order to be refunded. Table bookers will be contacted directly.

‘We wish Avicii a speedy recovery and look forward to bringing him to the Live@Atlantis stage in the very near future.
