Comedy heavyweight Jason Manford will perform two gigs in Dubai to celebrate the region’s longest running comedy night.
This summer the team behind The Laughter Factory – who have been responsible for bringing top comics to the GCC since the mid-’90s – are preparing to graduate into adulthood with their 18th year in the business.
And to mark the date they’ve pulled out all the stops in booking top UK comic Manford for a double header.
The notorious comic, known to UK TV audiences for his role in hit shows 8 Out of 10 Cats, Odd One and Show Me The Funny, will perform at the Crowne Plaza Dubai on June 22 and 23.
Also well known for his stand-up career, material from Manford’s last tour should resonate well with Dubai audiences – the show was entitled ‘First World Problems’.
Manford first played the UAE many years before finding fame, and told organisers he was looking forward to returning.
And the funnyman has maintained links with the region over the years, as an avid fan of Manchester City Football Club, which is sponsored by Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways.
The comedian made headlines recently after offering every audience member of a 835-strong crowd a free drink after showing up late for a gig - and picking up a bar tab of more than Dhs20,000.
Tickets, priced at Dhs300 and Dhs500 for premium, will be on sale from www.timeouttickets.com soon.
