UAE acts: We sallute you

Unprecedented number of local bands and artists release new music

The Knowledge

We’d like to pay a hearty salute to the local music scene, with an unprecedented number of acts launching new albums in recent weeks. Among them are Vin Sinners, Empty Yard Experiment, The Gypsy Swing Project, The Boxtones and Nikotin – look out for a full report on the blossoming UAE scene in next week’s issue (our April 23).

On a similar note, ferociously talented guitarist and oud player Kamal Musallam begins a new residency every Monday night at O Cacti in Dubai Marina’s Pier 7, performing alongside violinist Pasha Cazan and promising a dramatic reinterpretation of new and familiar material fusing electro beats and Latin flourishes.

That’s all for now, party people.
