This week: we get the scoop on a trio of new wellness venues including an in-gym pampering facility in Al Barsha.

Looking for somewhere to hibernate when the heatwave sets in? The city is welcoming three new spa and beauty venues to its already flourishing wellness portfolio this month, including world-class German spa and sauna boutique Klafs (no number). The retailer is on the pulse of the latest technology in leisure and designs top quality spas and saunas for private homes and luxury hotels. Head down there and start envisioning your dream home.

Meanwhile, new Western-run hair salon SLaM (800 7626), has just opened in Al Quoz, with owner and former Chill hairstylist Rachel Stevenson at the helm. Located in the Al Joud Centre, within walking distance of the city’s number one foodie stop Tom & Serg, the salon features exposed brick and suspended mirrors and is a convenient addition for Al Barsha and Umm Suqeim residents.

Lastly, over-achieving Venice Beach import Gold’s Gym UAE is expanding its services with the opening of in-house pampering facility I Am Spa (04 385 1151) inside the venue at Al Barsha Mall. Ideal for gym junkies who are on the go, the unisex spa offers standard treatments, including aromatherapy massage and Thalgo express facials, as well as classic mani-pedis and wash and blow-dries.
