Following the success of Dubai’s new outdoor project The Beach at JBR, plans are afoot to bring a second, similar beachside mall to the emirate. Last week, Emaar Properties and Dubai Municipality announced plans to develop the area around Al Mamzar Lake into an entertainment and residential hotspot with waterfront residences, fountains and water features, water-themed amusements and retail areas. There’s more water-side developments in the pipeline for Dubai too, with plans recently approved to create a new Dhs2 billion Creek-front project in Al Seef. The 1.8km plot (planned for completion by 2016) will feature floating markets, hotels, restaurants and art galleries, with a focus on reflecting local culture.
