This week: we reveal the must-have new cosmetics to see you through summer, including a brilliant Body Shop BB cream.
There has been a string of exciting new summer product launches this week that it would be unjust not to share. First up, Emirati brand BCI Group (800 5656 6242) launched the Middle East’s first halal nail polish at cosmetics fair Beauty World Middle East 2014 last month. Muslim practice requires women to remove nail varnish before praying as nail polish prevents the contact of water with the skin. The theory here is that the halal nail polish allows ‘increased water permeability’, allowing water to penetrate the nails.
Meanwhile, for those of you prone to summer breakouts and who have yet discover BB Cream, The Body Shop (04 337 0831) has just launched one that targets blemishes and evens out your complexion at the same time. The new Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream is made from organic tea tree oil sourced from a fully certified organic farm in Kenya. The tea is hand-picked and steam-distilled within 12 hours of harvest to preserve its natural antibacterial properties. It’s available in three shades and retails at Dhs45.
Lastly, playful Bordeaux perfume brand Lolita Lempicka has debuted its first ever lipstick in a suitably French bold, rouge red hue. Presented in a charming gift box the golden Elle L’Aime Mon Rouge is made with plant-based ingredients and is ultra hydrating, as well as colour rich. Get it from Paris Gallery (04 330 8289) for Dhs315.
