Knowledge story, The Knowledge

This week: Poetry reading, charitable buys and Arabian heritage in The Dubai Mall.

Expansive shoe heaven Level Shoe District (04 501 6888) is doing its bit for charity during the Holy Month and donating funds from sales of a unique pearl bracelet to Al Jalila Foundation. Produced by RAK Pearls and made using pearls sourced from the waters of Ras Al Khaimah, part of the funds raised will go to the global philanthropic organisation, which aims to transform the lives of the less fortunate through medical education and research.

Meanwhile, Level Shoe District’s in-house Vogue Café (04 501 6810) is embracing the Arabian Pearl Heritage theme running throughout Ramadan, with the restaurant being converted into a majlis, where you’ll find a traditional Arabic menu and live traditional entertainment. Weekly poetry reading sessions are also taking place every Tuesday at the café, from 9pm-11pm. Break fast in style.

Lastly, we’re digging H&M’s (04 330 8327) new summer 2014 make-up collection. Bold, colour rich and on-trend, it includes nail polish, lipstick and gloss, as well as eyeshadows and bronzing powder.
