Local freediving academy FreedivingUAE is on a mission to recruit fit, motivated Emiratis who are up for a challenge

Knowledge story, The Knowledge

Local freediving academy FreedivingUAE is on a mission to recruit fit, motivated Emiratis who are up for a challenge. The aim is to boldly go where no Emirati has gone before – the AIDA Team World Championships, as part of the first UAE national freediving team. In order to enter the 2015 international competition, the organisation needs to train six Emiratis to reach depths of 60m in just six months. It may sound tough, but the expert coaches enlisted believe it’s achievable. All Emiratis are welcome to nominate themselves, though candidates – and 30 people have already submitted applications – will ideally have some snorkelling or scuba diving experience.
