Knowledge story, The Knowledge

This week: free yoga in Dubai Internet City; Cafe De La Danse set to open and an ALS Ice Bucket challenge for charity.

Get your yoga on in Dubai Internet City every morning for free, with the launch of daily one-hour sessions in the amphitheatre bright and early from 5.30am, seven days a week. Held in association with Dubai-based
non-profit organisation, Friends of Yoga (www.friendsofyogaglobal.org), who aim to spread the benefits of yoga and meditation to all, the classes include a number of different styles including hatha and vinyasa flow.
Meanwhile, we’re just a little bit excited to hear that popular Dubai-based Brazilian bellydance and burlesque instructor Milla Tenorio is opening her own studio in Umm Suqeim this month. Café De La Danse Dance Studio (04 458 0762) is setting up shop in a villa located on Al Wasl Road in Umm Suqeim 2. Stay tuned for a schedule and Time Out’s review of the classes at the new venue.

Lastly, staff and management at nail pitstop Tips & Toes (04 399 0550), a total of 38 people, joined the charity craze and took part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, donating Dhs370 for each staff member who took part, with a total of Dhs13,984 raised for ALS, a neurodegenerative disease. The company nominated the management teams of rival salons N.Bar, NStyle and The Nail Spa, who have been surprisingly quiet.
