Plans have been submitted to the Dubai Municipality for a Feline Park, able to house as many as 5,000 cats. According to reports, the project would accommodate former street cats that had been vaccinated and neutered, with the option for visitors to adopt one of the cats if they grew attached to them. Costing an estimated Dhs2 million, it would have indoor, air-conditioned areas for the animals, as well as outdoor climbing facilities, with the possibility of a cat café and cat yoga, though some critics believe it could quickly becoming a dumping ground for unwanted pets.
