Dubai Municipality has announced that free wi-fi will be available in public parks and on public beaches in the emirate.
The Municipality signed a memorandum of understanding to create ‘smart’ parks and beaches with UAE telco du on the opening day of Gitex Technology Week.
“We announced earlier that we would have smart parks, smart beaches and smart public places in Dubai. Now we are introducing wi-fi services in these places,” Hussain Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality told local media.
The wi-fi iniative was launched in conjunction with the Municipality’s new Parks and Beach App, which provides information on the emirate’s parks and beaches, as well as weather conditions, distance from location, entrance fee and amenities at the site.
