Paul van Dyk will DJ at Pacha Ibiza Dubai on 26 February.
The legendary DJ and music producer for the likes of New Order, U2, Madonna and Justin Timberlake is to entertain partygoers in the Main Room of one the UAE’s most popular nightclub destinations since its launch in the region late last year.
Globally recognised for his contribution to the trance genre over the last two decades, the Grammy-nominated star is yet another huge name joining the new opening’s impressive line-up.
Earlier this month Prince encouraged a diverse audience to the Souk Madinat Jumeirah, but van Dyk’s appearance will bring Pacha back to the dance music spectaculars it is known for around the world.
This year, the 43-year-old has been touring the United States and his show at Pacha will mark his return to the UAE after one year; he played Dubai Marina’s outdoor venue Zero Gravity in 2014. The last-minute addition to his schedule comes before the German act’s visit to the UK in March, where he’ll play Leeds and Glasgow’s O2 Academy venues.
With seven studio albums in his arsenal he’ll have plenty to get the crowds going.
Real name Matthias Paul, his accolades include ranking at no.1 in DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJ poll, an achievement many rivals have been unable to compete with.
As well as having sold millions of albums, he has even ventured into the world of movies, broadening his reach by teaming up with Hans Zimmer on The Dark Knight theme song. Paul composed the score for EA Games' Grand Slam Tennis, won the Mexican Oscar for Best Original Score for Zurdo, and created the music for a global advertising campaign on behalf of Motorola and the announcement tones for Berlin's new international airport.
The electronic music DJ is also known for being politically active, taking participating in both Rock/Spin The Vote, plus the European Union campaigns. His latest album The Politics of Dancing 3 is due out this year.
Tickets for his Pacha gig can be obtained from Dhs200 on pre-sale or Dhs250 on entry.
