One Direction pop-up shop in Dubai

A One Direction pop-up shop will be at The Dubai Mall

Knowledge story, The Knowledge

Retail fans beware - a One Direction pop-up store is coming to The Dubai Mall.

Expect screaming fans to be swarming the place in preparation for the pop music sensations hitting the UAE, following a phenomenon that has already happened around the globe in 20 cities including New York, London, Sydney, Madrid and Copenhagen.

However this is the first time the Middle East will welcome a 1D World location and it’s only around for nine days, 20-28 February.

Those obsessed with Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik will be happy to know the store will sell exclusive merchandise not available in any other outlets or concert venues.

The 36 product lines include 12 T-shirt designs, posters, and life size cut outs of each band member. The boys have even helped design many of the lines.

Located next to the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo on the Ground Floor, fans can also be in with a chance of winning one of five pairs of Diamond standing tickets to their Dubai concert at the Sevens Stadium.

The 32,000 capacity event, which sold out in record time last summer, will be the largest concert ever staged in the Middle East.

1D became the first ever band to have their first three albums debut at No.1 in the US Billboard Chart, hitting the top spot in a further 30 countries worldwide. This year sees them launch their On The Road Again world tour, part of which sees them lighting the heart of Downtown Dubai.

The group is currently in Australia and are expecting success at the 2015 Brit Awards which take place on 25 February.

One Direction have been asking fans to help them win Best British Video for You & I by tweeting their support. They are up against the likes of Calvin Harris’ Summer, Mark Ronson’s Uptown Funk, Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Live, Rita Ora’s I Will Never Let You Down and Sam Smith’s Stay With Me. By 4 April they will be in the United Arab Emirates for the gig.
