Oscars 2015: What Wolfgang Puck will feed the stars

The famous chef who has a restaurant in Dubai will also be catering the Oscars' Governor's Ball

Remember in 2013 when Jennifer Lawrence claimed she was “starving” on the red carpet of the Academy Awards?

Well with 300 chefs on hand to make sure the 1,500 attendees are well fed and 600 waiters making sure their every need is served, it’s unlikely that will happen when they reach the after party aka the Governor’s Ball.

Nominees and winners, not to forget a lot of plus ones, will be eating the fine food of Wolfgang Puck, whose restaurant CUT is located in both Downtown LA and Downtown Dubai.

He will be providing guests with a selection of 50 dishes including chicken pie with black truffles and 24-carat gold parsnip soup. Only the best for the Hollywood elite. Everything seems to be glistening with gold when it comes to the star-studded ceremony’s post-gathering.

Even the baked potatoes are “gold-wrapped” and spicy tuna tartare will be served in cute sesame miso cones.

And Mr Puck certainly knows how to impress the most famous actors in the world. He has been catering this particular bash for 21 years.

As your mouth isn’t watering enough, here’s more about what the likes of Steve Carrel and Bradley Cooper will be chowing down on. Think American Wagyu burgers with aged cheddar, beetroot latkes with pastrami duck and apple mustard plus Dover sole with orange miso vinaigrette, and lobster BLT.

Taking place inside the Ray Dolby Ballroom at the Hollywood & Highland Center, desserts such as peanut butter strawberry lollipops and Puck's traditional 24k gold chocolate Oscars will be available.

“The artistry and glamour that have truly defined Hollywood for decades will be highlighted at 87th Oscars Governors Ball,” Jeffrey Kurland, the Academy governor said.

“We've selected the most stunning imagery from the Academy's vast collections to set the stage for our guests. The Academy will honor and share these timeless moments of a legacy that is in our blood and truly makes us who we are.”
