There’s just one more week until Omar Allibhoy headlines jones the grocer’s Taste of Spain festival this April.

The acclaimed chef, author, restauranteur and television personality will be fronting the event April 13-26, showcasing the finest culinary delights from his country.

Best known for being the founder and owner of the critically acclaimed Tapas Revolution as well as appearing on popular television programmes including, Sunday Brunch, The One Show and Masterchef, Omar has created a Chef Special’s Menu for jones the grocer from his book, Tapas Revolution.

The menu will be throughout the time the festival is on, at jones the grocer’s stores. He’ll also be conducting cooking masterclasses, cooking demonstrations and signing copies of his latest book in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

“I am excited to be bringing Tapas Revolution to the UAE and by partnering with jones the grocer I cannot wait to show and teach everyone how to create these delicious dishes,” he said.

Participants at the masterclass will be welcomed with a selection of tapas, Omar’s lemonade with a twist and shown to their very own cooking station where they will find fresh ingredients waiting. Omar will then work closely with the class to make paella Valenciana (paella ‘valencia’ style) and crema catalana (catalonian custard pots).

Those in attendance can then enjoy the meal that they’ve prepared, have an opportunity to interact with Omar and receive a complimentary signed copy of his book Tapas Revolution. Cooking classes with Omar cost Dhs995 all-inclusive and will be held on Wednesday 22 April in Al Manara (Dubai) and Thursday 23 April Khalidiyah (Abu Dhabi) respectively, Spanish grape pairing is available in Abu Dhabi for an additional Dhs150.

For those not looking to be so hands on, Omar will also be performing a cooking demonstration imparting tips and techniques to create a selection of tapas, fideuà (seafood paella made with pasta) and crema catalana (catalonian custard pots) prior to these masterclasses, for Dhs295 person, in Abu Dhabi participants have a choice of grape pairings for Dhs445.
