Dubai government workers are to be paid earlier this month, just in time for Eid.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, made the decision so government employees have the means to celebrate the holiday which is expected to fall on July 17.
Those eligible will get their salary deposited on July 14 and the city’s government has already begun the process to ensure the alternative payday is timely.
The Director of Dubai’s Department of Finance, Abdul Rahman Al Saleh, made it clear how grateful he is for Shaikh Mohammad’s gesture.
He added that it shows the Ruler’s willingness to allow government employees to cater for their family in the lead-up to Eid Al Fitr.
