One of London's trendiest restaurants in coming to Dubai. Specific details of the launch of Burger And Lobster are being kept underwraps at this stage, but news of its imminent rival will almost certainly get foodie tongues wagging.
Described as 'the hottest UK export since the Spice Girls' following its arrival in New York City earlier this year, the dining spot has expanded in a very short time to more than six cities around the world, with Dubai now set to become the seventh.
Buzz around its opening will no doubt hit fever pitch in the coming weeks, with doors expected to open before the year is out. In May, the chain opened its seventh London spot with a spectacular launch party that saw people queuing for hours in the rain just to get in.
Time Out understands Burger And Lobster will open at Fairmont Sheikh Zayed Road, though sources at the hotel would not confirm this.
The idea behind the hugely successful restaurant is simple. No menu. Just burgers. And lobster. And maybe chips. In fact, as the official website says, "As for the whole 'no-menu' thing, who needs one when you have a team with bags of personality just waiting to have a real conversation with you?"
Further exploration on the official website reveals the meat is the unique tasting 'Corn-fed steak from the rolling hills of Nebraska'. And the seafood, well that's from 'our friends in Nova Scotia, Canada, who have been fishing these wild creatures for generations'.
In a recent review of the Mayfair outlet, our friends at Time Out London observed Burger And Lobster was, "probably London's cheapest lobster in one of London's priciest areas - and no stinting on quality... the lobster (boiled, grilled or in a brioche roll with mayonnaise) was a fresh, quality specimen, perfectly cooked – and tasted divine dipped in drawn butter."
Stay close to Time Out Dubai for news about the official launch soon.
