Have a laugh or watch Thirty Seconds to Mars live

Things to do today, The Knowledge
Things to do on September 25:

Have a laugh: Iranian-American funnyman Maz Jobrani returns to Dubai for another night of side-splitting storytelling. He wittily recounts personal experiences of growing up as an Iranian in America, his quest to make it in Hollywood and battling common misunderstandings of being Middle Eastern in the US.
Dhs295-550. From 4pm. Samaya Ballroom, The Ritz-Carlton, DIFC (04 385 8514).

Get wet and wild at Water slide mania: In true Dubai style, this weekend sees the world’s longest inflatable slide take up home at Dubai Autodrome. Prepare to get wet and wacky as you fly along the two 500-metre lanes on a rubber ring. Just don’t forget water guns and balloons, as you will enter battle. Make sure you get your tickets online in advance.
Dhs170 (two hour slide pass), Dhs50 (entrance, no slide). Fri and Sat 11am-11pm. Until September 26. Dubai Autodrome, Motor City, www.dubai.platinumlist.net (04 457 3212).

Brunch at Zuma: Today marks the return of Zuma’s brunch, just as the award-winning Japanese hotspot introduces its new Dantai set menu, available in the lounge every Friday. Select two starters and a main course, to be followed by a special Zuma dessert platter.
Dhs260. Fri 1.30pm-3.30pm. Gate Village 6, DIFC (04 425 5660).

Thirty Seconds to Mars live: The American rock band – fronted by Oscar-winning actor Jared Leto with his brother Shannon on drums and Tomo Milicevic on guitars – take to the stage to play tracks from their latest album Love Lust Faith + Dreams as part of Dubai Music Week. Dhs295-550. 6.30pm. Dubai World Trade Centre, Sheikh Zayed Road (04 332 1000).

No 1 Fridays’ Comedy Jam: This brand-new comedy night features American and British stand-ups WYardie, Will E Robo, Axel Blake and Travis Jay. Hang around after the show for a night of urban beats.
