The Knowledge
Things to do on October 10:

The Woman in Black
If you were suitably spooked by Daniel Radcliffe playing peek-a-boo with a scorned spectre – whose appearance leads to a child’s untimely death – then you’ll love the theatre performance of Susan Hill’s bestselling novel The Woman in Black, which is on stage at Madinat Theatre from Saturday October 10. It’s one of the world’s most successful plays, having spent 25 years at London’s West End, and follows a lawyer, who believes a curse has been cast over him and his family, as he gets a sceptical young actor to help him tell his terrifying story.
Dhs180-230. Until October 16. Madinat Theatre, Madinat Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim, www.seewomaninblack.com (04 366 6546).

Underwater CrossFit
What do you get when you combine CrossFit with aqua aerobics? This new weekly water workout at Fit Republik (of course). The one-hour session includes challenges in, out and under the water so CrossFit-ers can take their gruelling training one step further.
Dhs2,400 three-month membership. Sat 3pm-4pm. Ongoing. Fit Republik, Dubai Sports City (04 556 1800).

Crab festival, Chimes’ flavours
Cosy Asian fusion restaurant Chimes is putting on a festival to celebrate the crustacean, with dishes such as Singapore chilli crab and Sri Lankan crab curry. You get to choose from one of six, with rice or bread.
Dhs125. Daily 11.30am-11.30pm. Until October 31. Seven Sands Hotel Apartments, Al Barsha (04 323 4211).

Globe theatre in dubai
Even if all you know about Shakespeare’s Hamlet is “To be, or not to be” (and even if you didn’t know that was actually from Hamlet), the Globe Theatre’s rendition of this powerful tragedy is worth a watch. The world-famous London company is coming to Dubai’s Ductac for one night only, as part of a two-year world tour with the fictional Danish Prince.
Dhs175-375. 2.30pm, 7.30pm. Ductac, Mall of the Emirates (04 341 4777).
